001 — Intelligent Life Has Been Watching....

THE WORLD
2025, United States — the world has continued to largely ignore the abnormalities reported by naval pilots and vessels, but their continued existence has created significant and increasing alarm within the military, who is studying it furiously — attempting to determine if it is human or alien technology and if it is weaponized.

In reality, we have been passively monitored by an alien life force since before the dawn of humanity — but are only now developing the technology to observe their observations.

SCIENTIFIC INFLECTION POINT

Awash in a hustle and bustle, the least likely military scientist ever, is overwhelmed on her first day of work at the pentagon. A vocal pacifist who studies mycelium, aspen clonal colonies and chemical communication. In other words, she is incredibly out of her comfort zone.

Almost immediately, she see parallels between her work with fungi and the massive quantities of data from the military, but she can’t understand why or what it means. Diving deep into her work — and with a few adventures into the wilderness with old buddies — she eventually cracks the code and opens our eye’s to the chemical signals shared by the alien life force.

RAMIFICATIONS

  • Can’t decide whether to communicate back

    • Rogue scientist does it without explicit permission

    • Attempt to communicate is moderately successful

  • Knowing that they have been ‘seen’, the alien life force enters stage two: active contact

  • Military prepares to respond (but have no idea what to prepare for and it ends up being completely inept)

  • World is thrown into chaos: markets crash, trips to moon / mars suddenly become hot commodities

  • People are split about believing the very reasonable messages from the alien life force. There are clear camps pro / against

  • Societal fabric is ripped apart by the news of the intelligent life form

    • Cult of alien sympathizers

    • Doomsday preppers to the max

    • Rebellions against governments — Texas(?) succeeds

HUMAN INFLECTION POINT

The alien life force shows up and is largely benevolent but wildly incomprehensible. We are not the first intelligent life they have witnessed grow up — even as individuals, whose life span is in the thousands or millions of years.

As a society, we are given two options: unite in peace to build a utopian society based on unlimited energy and resources, as they do, or go the way of all other intelligent life discovered in the universe, who could not choose peace, and be destroyed.

Society is ripped apart before the alien life force ever makes it to earth.

We can not choose peace. We are destroyed.

LESSONS LEARNED

Peaceful utopia’s are built on destruction & intolerance.
